It’s June and the heat has come here to Texas with a vengeance. Just yesterday my car was claiming it was 105 degrees when I got into it. It wasn’t quite that hot (my car had been sitting in the sun behind the office where I work), but with the humidity so overbearing in the air, it might as well have felt like it was that 105 degrees. This post though isn’t about my complaint with the hotter than hell weather here, it’s about my running and fitness goals for the month. Because if I didn’t sit down and outline clear goals for myself, I wouldn’t accomplish anything. So without hesitation here they are:
June 2018 – Running & Fitness Goals:
- Run at least 10 5ks this month.
- At least 5 workouts a week this month.
- Start meal planning and go at least a week without visiting a restaurant.
Just three simple-ish goals. I’m actually kicking off my 5k goal this morning by running the Run Houston Race Series Clear Lake run virtually. And while I know that many runs isn’t a lot for an elite athlete, I’m just a mom trying to start my running journey over. I’ve also already measured and weighed myself because I want to track my fitness progress. Even if I truly don’t pay attention to the number on the scare but choose to follow progress in inches and strength. I guess I just want to see. My workouts this month will consist of runs (of course, I have other running goals I’ve set for myself), HIIT workouts both body weight and with weights, and even roller derby practices which do all kinds of things for my body. Please be sure to follow along and check the Run Diaries of both myself and Sarah as our journey’s progress. We both want to share our fitness journies and results with you all as well as workouts, recipes, and other fun stuff!
