2018 has been a doozy of year, like depression hurling bombs at you doozy. I even had to post pone my first marathon because, well? Life.
Shit happens and I had all of these grand schemes, but all you can do is keep going and focus. And of course my new favorite thing.
Practice Self Care
I’ve never been good at it, I’m a mom. Mom’s are notoriously not good at it. But I’ve decided that to be a better mom, writer, employee and runner. That I’ve got to take care of myself.
So last night, I had planned on running. Because well life has been insane and running hasn’t gotten the love that I wish I had been giving to it. I decided to go get a mani and pedi. It was something I needed so badly that I almost fell asleep in the pedi chair.
And let’s be honest, I ran ten miles in the wrong size running shoes a couple of weeks ago and my feet were in desperate need of TLC. But I exchanged the shoes and got the right size now, so believe me when I say.
Get the right size shoes.
I could barely walk for a week and my feet are still healing from the damage, but that is another blog post.
This one is about taking care of yourself when you’ve had a rough time, and maybe taking care of yourself is going for a long run or maybe taking care of yourself is giving your hands and especially feet some love.
I know this post is probably a blathering random jumble of words. But really I’ve had quite the year and I just want to practice and preach some self love.
Here’s to making 2019 tons better and bringing more to you here at Run Life 365.
