When I started seriously running a little over a year ago I ran on a pair of cross trainers that were a little too big. They were great for when my feet would start to swell, but there wasn’t much support when they weren’t. Now I just use those shoes for cross training sessions and Zumba classes.
But for running I now use the NIKE Women’s Flex Experience RN 6. They have been a good shoe so far, they have been through about 700+ miles, including a half-marathon, and multiple 10k races. They’ve been pretty great, other than some breaking in time at the beginning. Heel blisters included. But I kept going and well they subsided and the shoes fit perfectly with great support.
I feel like they have been a great beginner running shoe for me. They are still going strong for me and even though I’m looking to replace them shortly they will be kept in my rotation for cross training, because even though they are a running shoe they have been great during Zumba classes and weight sessions.
And I’ve also gotten a ton of compliments on the look of the shoes, so they are also a great looking shoe.
NIKE Women’s Flex Experience RN 6 Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Super stable
- Lightweight
- Flexible
- Great breathability; even after a half-marathon my feet weren’t swimming in sweat.
Cons:
- Breaking in period. (Had to get about 30-50 miles, and had blisters on my heels)
- Can run narrow, but fit well.
While I paid around $80 dollars for mine, they can currently be found for around $60, especially here on Amazon where there is a large selection of colors. The photos I’ve shared are of my actual shoes and a stock photo of the color I have. So well I’m just going to add that these are a great looking comfortable shoe that are great for beginning runners who are starting training for half-marathons and even full-marathons.
