Since I’m working on finishing up my Personal Trainer Certification, I feel as if I have to get super serious about my workouts. Sometimes I do stuff on the fly and sometimes I’ve got everything all planned out. I prefer to have everything planned out and written down so that I don’t usually have to play the guessing game. Though some of the workouts may get shuffled around because of the heat or if it happens to rain. East Texas weather is very finicky.
So here is the preliminary plan for the week:
Weekly Workout plan:
- Sunday:
- Skate
- Monday:
- Run a 5k
- Stretch
- Tuesday:
- Skate (It’s Roller Derby Night)
- During this we always get a fantastic HIIT workout and stretches on top of lots of endurance and agility.
- Skate (It’s Roller Derby Night)
- Wednesday:
- Run a 5k
- Stretch
- Swim Laps
- Thursday:
- Skate
- Friday:
- Rest (Will probably go for a swim)
- Saturday:
- Run a 5k
- Swim Laps
I know that seems like quite a bit, but some of it is done before it’s even light out and the rest in the evening when it’s cooled off and the work day is over. So basically I run about 3 times a week and do crosstraining three other days. I try to get a rest day in because it really is necessary, but sometimes I will do something lazy-ish like go for a swim or take a walk. And all of this is done while working full-time with kids.
It’s completely doable with lots of planning and time management. You just have to want it.
